Oreo Truffles
These are sooooo yummy! If you like Oreos, you will probably love these. Even my boyfriend (who dislikes sweets), said they were "amazing". I love when I finally make something he likes. :o) You must try these!
Oreo Truffles
Makes approx. 24
-1pkg of Oreos (18oz)
-1pkg of softened cream cheese (8oz)
-Chocolate melts or semi-sweet chocolate (for dipping)
Crush the package of Oreos, either in a food processor or in place in a ziplock bag and use a rolling pin. Once the Oreos are crushed (you want them to be very fine crumbs, otherwise you will have chunks of cookie in your truffles), combine them with the softened cream cheese in a bowl. Mix until it is well blended. Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls and place on a cookie sheet. Put the cookie sheet in the freezer or fridge to harden the truffles. Once firm enough (about 30 - 1 hour in fridge), remove them and dip them into the melted chocolate using a fork. Replace back on cookie sheets and put them in the fridge or freezer to harden. Best when served chilled.
Enjoy!!!

Yum. I'm a huge fan of oreo truffles but I like the mint ones best of all. Very prettily decorated!
ReplyDeleteThese look delightful! :) I love the blue icing on top.
ReplyDeleteThere was a time when I would see this and mourn the fact that I couldn't reproduce what I saw for lack of natural food coloring. But, I just purchased some over Christmas, so I'm in! And by the way, how on earth does a pastry school student put up with a guy who doesn't like sweets? :D
ReplyDeleteBest,
Casey
I make these all the time, they are sooo yummy. I usually drizzle white chocolate over mine. They're also good if you make them out of nutter butters yumm yum

ReplyDeleteCasey - I've never seen natural food coloring. I should try to find some. And I guess it's good he doesn't like sweets or he would have to eat everything I make!

ReplyDeleteIt is candy melts. Wilton makes them among other brands. You can buy them in different colors. You just melt the little candies and then pipe them with a piping bag.
