Sugared Pecans

Sugared pecans are the perfect snack especially served warm during these chilly months! And they will make your house smell delicious!

Sugared Pecans
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 pound pecan halves
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  1. Preheat oven to 250 degrees F (120 degrees C). Grease one baking sheet.
  2. In a mixing bowl whip the egg white and water until frothy. In a separate bowl, mix together sugar, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. Add pecans to egg whites, stir to coat the nuts evenly. Remove the nuts, and toss them in the sugar mixture until coated. Spread the nuts out on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Bake at 250 degrees F (120 degrees C) for 1 hour. Stir every 15 minutes.

  1. I'm thinking these would make a nice gift, do you know if they would keep well for a few days? Is there an easy way to warm them up?

  2. They will last at least two weeks in an airtight container. I haven't tried warming them up once they've cooled so I'm not sure about that. But they taste delicious at room temp as well!

  3. You can freeze them too. I have been making a similar recipe for years. I use champagne or sherry in place of the water. The Sherry is really the most flavorful. Everyone in my family asks for these every year at Christmas time. They do make great gifts.
